Time to leave Argentina for a week. After breakfast we drove to the airport and returned our car. We proceeded to check-in and then had time to wait for our airplane that came from Punto Arenas in Chile. We followed it’s progress on flightradar24 to know if it would be on time.
No rush today, so breakfast at nine and then it was time to pack our bags and after a stop at the bakery we began our 320 Km journey to Rio Gallegos.
After the last busy days we decided to take it easy. Breakfast at 9 and then just two places to visit.
As we did yesterday, breakfast was at 6:30 because we had to leave at seven to get to Puerto Bandera.
We had to get up early today. Breakfast at 6:30 and in the car by 7:00 in order to be ready to board the boat at the Perito Moreno that would take us to the base of the glacier for a “mini trekking”.
Because of the mess Aerolineas Argentinas made by changing our flights we stayed one night in a different hotel after arriving in El Calafate. We packed, loaded the car and then waited to be picked up for a 4×4 tour to the Balcones.
While walking around town yesterday we already ordered a taxi to pick us up today. Right on time we heard a car honk outside and 15 minutes later we were at the airport.
Because of the extra time we have in Ushuaia we could make this a “lazy Saturday”. After yesterday’s longer day with more activity we could just stroll through town stress free.
Another early morning. Because Aerolineas Argentinas changed our flights we had to finds extra things to do in Ushuaia. We found a nice trip to Gable Island, a farm and one of the only places to easily see penguins.
